When is the THE right time?

My topic of confusion is what probably is shared by many. How do you plan for something in life? A new job or or a new position or even a new place to move to? My experiences are that I tend to get comfortable with the flow of life when there are least disruptions.

But is that what you want? Is it good to have disruptions at only certain times in your life? I am not sure what the answer is. Sometimes, I feel that most of us are forced to make decisions only when we are cornered. More comfortable I get with things around me, more difficult is for me to take that first step to change the very same things even when I know that I should risk and disrupt.

Is there something called THE RIGHT TIME? Or we should plan small changes to steer our lives towards the goal over a period of time? I feel that the latter would again slide us into a comfortable flow that would be difficult to change. What are your thoughts?  Is there a right time for change or change just happens?

  1. Well my good friend has posed a very interesting question? When is the RIGHT time to make a move...

I believe it all depends on which sphere of life are we talking about here? Most probably the main reason is change of job.I think the most imp questions to ask are:

Are you leaving for the right reasons (better job, more money, more flexibility)?
Is changing jobs now going to help in your career growth?
Is this the right time to move on for both personal and professional reasons?
    Has the learning stopped?
Are you happy when you get up in the morning and excited to go to office?
Difficult work environment - bad coworkers, bosses and a negative working atmosphere?

The problem comes when changing a job has an impact on other sphere of life. You might have to travel extra on a daily basis. You might have to go out of town for few days in the week. You might have to change the house. Your kids need to adjust to new school and make new friends. That seems a huge change and that’s why you need to ask yourself above questions.

I think there is no right or wrong time. Mostly you have a gut feeling on what to do next... I am a very optimistic person and totally believe that if you have confidence in yourself then making a move is not as difficult as it seems. It just a matter of time as humans basic nature is to accommodate and move on.

So clear out all your fears and think what is RIGHT and NOT what is comfortable...
